Times+ members enjoyed an evening Q&A with Sol Campbell on April 16.

One of the world's most famous and secretive football stars was interviewed by The Sunday Times chief sports writer David Walsh.

Campbell is revealing his story in his authorised biography by bestselling author Simon Astaire. The youngest of twelve children, brought up on the streets of East London in a Jamaican immigrant family, Campbell traces his journey to the FA School of Excellence and as a millionaire footballer for Tottenham and Arsenal, through Champions League and World Cup finals, to widespread acclaim as the second youngest England captain after Bobby Moore.

The biography also includes exclusive interviews with key people in Sol Campbell’s life, including: Tony Adams, Steve Perryman, David Dein, Arsene Wenger, Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira, Gary Mabbutt and Chris Houghton, alongside his  family and childhood friends, providing the most comprehensive picture of Campbell to date.
