On the evening of Thursday, November 5 for our online event gave a detailed analysis of the US Presidential election results. Chaired by Times Radio's John Pienaar, our State-side panel includes: PJ O’Rourke, American political satirist, Sarah Baxter, American diarist and former deputy editor of The Sunday Times and Henry Zeffman, Washington correspondent for The Times.  

John Pienaar is the Drive show presenter on Times Radio between 4pm and 7pm Monday - Thursday. The show deals with the issues of the day in Westminster and beyond. He will be joined by: 

Sarah Baxter is a former Washington correspondent for The Sunday Times, who covered the election of Barack Obama in 2008. She returned to Britain to take up the editorship of The Sunday Times magazine and went on to become deputy editor and columnist for the newspaper. She is a dual UK/US national (through her American mother) and is now back in the US, where she is writing an "American Diary" for The Sunday Times. Sarah now lives in Pennsylvania. 

PJ O’Rourke has written nineteen books on subjects as diverse as politics and cars and etiquette and economics. Parliament of Whores and Give War a Chance both reached #1 on the New York Times bestseller list. He is a contributing editor at the Weekly Standard, H. L. Mencken Research Fellow at the Cato Institute, a regular panelist on NPR’s Wait Wait . . . Don’t Tell Me, and editor-in-chief of the web magazine American Consequences. He lives in rural New England, as far away from the things he writes about as he can get. 

Henry Zeffman is Washington Correspondent for The Times. He joined the paper in 2016. He won young journalist of the year at the 2019 press awards, an MHP 30 to watch award in 2017 and the Anthony Howard award for young journalists in 2015. He was previously a political correspondent, working in Westminster.
