Join The Times’ very own crossword-setter Tim Moorey on Friday, October 2 for an interactive masterclass designed to leave you with the essentials hacks and tips to crack even the most cryptic of crosswords.

If you enjoy attempting the daily Times 2 crossword but aspire to solve more challenging puzzles this online course will help you learn some useful tricks. Tim Moorey will present the basics of solving the most common clue types - before deconstructing a Quick Cryptic, clue by clue, with all attendees. Tim will also share his years of knowledge to help you solve difficult puzzles as well as some useful resources.

By the end of this two-hour masterclass, you should be able to crack at least a few clues in the Times Quick Cryptic, learn some tips for solving any cryptic crossword and gain some understanding of the wider world of crosswords. 

About Tim Moorey

Tim Moorey is a professional crossword setter for The Sunday Times, The Week and MoneyWeek as well as other publications. He also provides specially tailored crosswords for individuals celebrating events like weddings, anniversaries and so on. He is the Cluru (Agony Uncle) for the Crossword Club, an after-dinner speaker who has given talks at London's Barbican Centre, Devizes Festival, The Wonderful World of Words Festival in Mohonk, New York State, Marlborough College Summer School and many other locations for the past 12 years around the UK. A former Senior Lecturer at the Civil Service College, he has a wealth of experience of teaching adults in a relaxed environment.
