Liven up your Christmas celebrations this year with some delicious whisky based cocktails. This masterclass is hosted by cook, writer and broadcaster, Rachel Khoo in partnership with The Singleton Whisky. She demonstrates how to make three delicious cocktails to give you fresh inspiration for your winter tipples and answers questions from subscribers. This event took place on the evening of Tuesday, December 8 2020.
Each of the cocktails is made with whisky and your mixologist for the evening is The Singleton Malt whisky ambassador, Jo Last. Jo demonstrates the ‘Singleton & Cream Soda’, a perfect pre-dinner cocktail, ‘The Snug’, for the Espresso Martini Lovers and aims to win-round those who are usually non-whisky drinkers with the ‘The Orchard’ which is a fresh tasting way to enjoy The Singleton.
Rachel Khoo is a British cook, writer and broadcaster, with her own BBC and Food Network television cooking series. She is also founder and editor-in-chief of online lifestyle magazine Khoollect. She is currently working on a new travel and cookery TV show which her production company will be co-producing.
Jo Last spent six years working in some of Leeds’ most exciting cocktail venues. After this, she moved to the award-winning Beaufort Bar at The Savoy Hotel, working as a senior bartender for two years, during which time she achieved a Top 3 finish in the GB World Class cocktail competition– a global search for the world’s best bar tenders. Jo is now the Malt Whisky Ambassador for Diageo.
If you would like to make the three cocktails along with Rachel and Jo, please have the below equipment and ingredients to hand.
- Spoon or stirrer
- 2 x rocks glass
- 1 x highball glass
- (any 3 glasses you have will work)
- Singleton 12YR Whisky
- Cold brew coffee
- Cream Soda
- Apple juice
- Apple and/or pear sparkling juice
- To Garnish:
- Fresh mint
