Join us on the evening of Wednesday, July 22 for a charity event to hear Adam Kay, multi-million bestselling author of This is Going To Hurt, comedian, former doctor and columnist for The Sunday Times, talk with Victoria Derbyshire about Dear NHS: 100 Stories to Say Thank You, a charity book which he has curated with a star-studded line up.

The event will be hosted online and is free to access along with the purchase of a hardback copy of Dear NHS: 100 Stories to Say Thank You which will be published by Trapeze on Thursday, July 9 at £16.99. Over half of the cover price from the sale of each book from this event will go to NHS Charities Together to fund vital research and projects, and The Lullaby Trust which supports parents bereaved of babies and young children.

Dear NHS features 100 household names telling their personal stories of the health service. Contributors include: Paul McCartney, Emilia Clarke, Stephen Fry, Dawn French, Sir Trevor McDonald, Graham Norton, Sir Michael Palin, Naomie Harris, Ricky Gervais, Sir David Jason, Dame Emma Thompson, Joanna Lumley, Miranda Hart, Dermot O'Leary, Jamie Oliver, Ed Sheeran, David Tennant, Dame Julie Walters, Emma Watson, Malala Yousafzai and many more.

Deeply moving, hilarious, hopeful and impassioned, these stories together become a love letter to the NHS and the 1.5 million people who work within it. It is our single greatest achievement as a nation, always there for us, and never more so than now. The hope is that the book, and the money it raises for charity, will in some way manage to say thank you to the heroes who are putting our lives before their own every day.

Adam's first book, This is Going to Hurt, revisiting his former career as a junior doctor, has spent over a year at number one in The Sunday Times bestseller list. As an award-winning live performer, Adam has sold out multiple Edinburgh Fringe runs, West End seasons and UK and international tours.
